With the release of Steinberg's entry-level music production system Cubase Essential 5, the Cubase 5 family is now complete!
Cubase Essential 5 provides an intuitive approach to composing, recording, editing and mixing, with the same technology as used by countless professionals around the globe. It is, in fact, the gateway to the world of Cubase.


 
New Features

Cubase Essential 5 boasts many core qualities also found in its bigger siblings. For example, the Pitch Correct VST3 plug-in that provides easy on-the-fly pitch correction, and the Beat Designer plug-in that allows for an easy and intuitive beat creation workflow. Cubase Essential 5 also brings more sounds for more music: It contains Prologue, a polyphonic subtractive synthesis VST instrument, and also includes almost 240 new premium instrument sounds for HALion One, including the entire Studio Set found in Cubase 5. On the MIDI side, lots of improvements have been added as well: From redesigned MIDI effects to enhanced automation. The MediaBay has also been greatly optimized. The virtual MIDI keyboard and generic Windows Vista low latency drivers support musicians on-the-go.
